Free Guided Tours on the Esplanade

Did you know that 150 years ago, the Charles River ran through what is now Back Bay? Or that there is a dog fountain on the Esplanade named after a famous Gold Rush dancer?

There are countless stories like these behind Boston’s most iconic park and we want to share them with you! The Esplanade Association is excited to announce a new guided tour program to share the fascinating history of the Esplanade. The guided tour program includes eight FREE walking tours running from June through September. Guided walking tours last about an hour-and-a-half and cover about a mile of the Esplanade and over 150 years of history!

Additional private group tours can also be scheduled for a nominal fee.
